Review – Fujifilm XF 50mm f2.0 WR vs 56mm f1.2

This is a review comparing the two 50-ish lenses that are available for the Fujifilm X cameras.

The difference in aperture and therefor lowlight and shallow depth of field is obvious and goes without saying.
I was more interested in their performance for street photography and for my style of aesthetics.

Conclusion of the 50mm vs 56mm

Pros 50mm

  • Faster
  • Smaller filter needed
Pros 56mm

  • Good comparison. I’ve used both in street photography and I ended up preferring the 50mm f/2 for its speed and silent autofocus. The 56mm was a bit clunky – and I was usually stopping down to f/2 anyway. Both really are delightful lenses on the street, though you can’t beat how the 56mm makes the background just melt away!
