This was a simple and quick run with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and the Blackmagic 4K Production Camera.
All settings where similar but not identical. I didn’t try to match them exactly.
Also note that HD only really looks bad in a side by side. The BMPCC is still a mighty fine camera. One of the best in my opinion. But the Production Camera is still (October 2015) my favorite Blackmagic camera.
- The Pocket Camera is better in low light, has a wider dynamic range and of course cost less.
- The Production Camera has higher resolution, it is way sharper even in HD. The Global Shutter rocks. Its bigger sensor gives a more cinematic feel and it has no moire.
- If indecisive, buy a BMCC 2.5K.
